Job Summary
EU H2020 5GhOSTS project is part of European's Horizon 2020 research 6 innovation program under the Marie Skodowska-Curie action - ITN European Industrial Doctorate. 5GhOSTS project seeks to improve the security of virtualization technologies: Containers, lightweight Virtual Machines, and orchestration frameworks. Unlike previous evolutions in the telecommunications sector, the 5th Generation of Telecommunication Systems (5G) presents diverse and novel requirements for technologies covering, Software Defined Networking, Network Functions Virtualization, Edge Computing, as well as algorithms to optimize the management of such sophisticated networks. As a result, the 5G evolution will mainly be built on layers of software services.
The partners in 5GhOSTS consortium is ERICSSON AB, and KU Leuven, one of Europe's leading universities in STEM and Law.
Job description
This position is for the secondment period of Early Stage Researchers from KU Leuven university to visit Ericsson Research Stockholm Sweden. The position is part of the 5GhOSTS project cooperation between ERICSSON and KU Leuven.
Responsibilities
Conducting applied research in security, in an interdisciplinary context of computer scientists, legal scientists and telecom engineers, as part of 5GhOSTS project.
Participating in trainings and research cooperation with different international departments of Ericsson, with home organization at Ericsson Research Stockholm, Sweden.
Publishing research in high quality peer-reviewed national and international journals; presenting research results at national and international meetings, conferences, seminars, and workshops
Building research collaborations and engaging in science communication
Preparing input for standardization and IPRs.
Continued cooperation with KU Leuven and preparing for PhD.
Eligibility criteria to apply for the position:
You are employed by KU Leuven university, Belgium.
You are registered at the doctoral program, KU Leuven.
You are working in the EU H2020 Marie Curie 5GhOSTS project.
