Become one of our 16 International Trainees at Vattenfall. Each of the trainee positions is unique, linked to a department within a specific business area and a working location. This means that each position has its own specific responsibilities, challenges and matching profile.
Next to your personal development in this unique position you will be enjoying one year of all we have to offer. Your trainee year will be filled with meetups with your international trainee team with likeminded individuals. You will be meeting up virtually to work on assignments and live during four seminar weeks where you will be visiting our power plants and growing your superpowers with a variety of trainings.
Your role as a Trainee - Product Manager - Cost Engineering
You will be part of the LCoE Performance team which is part of the Business Area Wind.
BA Wind is responsible for the development, construction and operation of wind power onshore and offshore as well as other non-hydro renewable activities like solar and batteries. We manage the maintenance, operation and continuous improvement of wind generation assets, safely and with the highest levels of availability and profitability. We also perform the structuring and execution of project partnerships in accordance with overall wind strategy.
The purpose of our LCoE Performance team is to ensure that we at Onshore Wind reach our very ambitious profitability targets to continue being a best-in-class developer across all markets. Our team is split into two main focus areas. One of the areas is Business Intelligence consisting of five Product Managers focusing on cost and value engineering services - you will be located in this team. The second area is LCoE program management consisting of five Program Managers focusing on the implementation of technical and commercial solutions to improve the profitability of our development portfolio. You will work very closely with this group, our colleagues from Market Development, Procurement and Project Delivery.

As International Trainee - Product Manager - Cost Engineering you will take a varied number of key responsibilities. As we are a larger team with varied backgrounds, you should apply if you have experience within some of them. The key responsibilities are:
Support asset development projects by providing project-specific CAPEX and OPEX estimates throughout the entire development and procurement phases
Develop and implement models and databases to advance our Business Intelligence strategy, optimize processes for data management and digitalization and contribute to improving our data maturity
Develop renewable energy plant simulation tools to valuate the impact of different project and portfolio initiatives, and analyse market trends, competitive landscape, and supplier feedback to identify opportunities
Finally we expect you to participate in the development of the team and department strategy

Furthermore, you have:
A relevant degree in in Engineering, Economics or a similar science
An analytical mindset with experience in data analysis and visualization tools, and systems (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Python, R, SQL, Azure etc.)
Interest in working with data and models and making an impact delivering successful business solutions
Knowledge of wind energy and/or the energy sector is an advantage
Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken
Self-driven, creative and caring approach
Flexibility, proactiveness, generosity, friendliness, empathy, grit and a sense of humor
You are our ideal trainee if you are a recent graduate with an academic degree and have maximum one year of work experience, or you graduate before February 2024. You are fluent in English. Skills in other world languages can be a merit.
