Are you passionate about Internal Audit and Models? Are you knowledgeable in financial models and willing to further deepen your competence?In Swedbank you have the opportunity to:
• Conduct comprehensive audits of IRB-models, market-risk models, credit provisioning models, stress test models, and other related financial models.
• Evaluate model development processes including data input quality, assumptions, methodologies, and validation processes.
• Challenge and reperform quantitative calculations and methodologies. Assess the appropriateness of model validation techniques and critically evaluate how these tests have been applied in practice.
• Assess model governance frameworks to ensure they comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Identify potential risks associated with model usage and provide recommendations for mitigating these risks.
• Prepare detailed audit reports documenting findings, recommendations, and management responses.
• Collaborate with model stakeholders across various departments to ensure thorough understanding and transparent communication regarding audit findings.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends in risk modeling, and regulatory changes impacting financial modeling standards.
• Provide input to annual and continuous risk assessment, planning and quarterly reporting.
• Through audit engagements, assist senior management in identifying sustainable improvements towards transforming the Bank and helping it to reach its strategic goals.
• Collaborate with other team members with different competences and skills to constantly develop.
What is needed in this role:
• Degree in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, or related field.
• Strong understanding of risk modelling techniques (PD, LGD, EAD, IFRS 9, market risk, liquidity risk).
• Proficiency in statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and model performance evaluation.
• Basic knowledge in data analysis and programming (e.g., Python, R, SAS, or similar tools).
• Ability to interpret complex quantitative outputs and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and independence in judgment.
• Team player and service minded
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly to non-expert stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with model validation and ability to challenge assumptions, inputs, and methodologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (CRR/CRD, ICAAP, ILAAP, FRTB) and model governance principles is a plus.
• Experience from BIG 4 audit firms is a plus
