The open position is within Product Development at Volvo Construction Equipment in Braås Sweden. Braås is the global centre for development and manufacturing of Articulated Haulers, a business in which Volvo is a market leader with very ambitious plans for the future.
We are now looking for positions as Product System Engineers who will establish and maintain one or several machine systems for the hauler platform.
Hauler Platform department is a part of the Hauler Product Platform organization within VCE Technology, with the responsibility of the hauler product range, A25/A40. As the product owner, the department is accountable for the QDCF (Quality Deliverables Cost Features) of the machines and that the products are configured in an optimized way to meet the customer needs and business expectations as well as the internal product targets. The department is also responsible for product road maps, the future product strategies and to participate in competitor comparison and analysis. The department is involved in all areas of the product life cycle, from participating in the governance forums of the current production machines as well as being accountable for the future development of complete machines and the related applications/attachments in line with the company strategy.
Tasks would include:
The Product System Engineer owns one or several machine systems and is responsible for managing the entire life cycle including Advance Engineering, Product Maintenance and New Product Development of the identified system.
The main responsible is to establish and maintain technology strategies for the machine systems within the hauler platform. Key responsibility areas for a system engineer are;
Establish and maintain the system specification of the specific system that is used by all projects
Build, maintain and structure knowledge for the specific machine system
Be able to explain the system to relevant stakeholders
Know, understand and set performance, durability and cost targets for the machine system
Understand and manage the interaction between the hardware (HW) and software (SW) for the machine system
Provide input for modularization of the key components in the machine system in the form of wanted performance steps
The authorities of the Product System Engineer are:
Decide high level base architecture for the machine system
Approve deviations from a high level base architecture for the machine system
Decide on go/no go for proposed updates/changes to the machine system
Requirements:
Master of Science or Business Administration
Valid work-permit for applied country if not citizen
Excellent spoken and written English (Additional languages are given merit)
Maximum of two years previous work-experience after graduation
International experience is meriting
Additional languages:
Basic Swedish skills and ambition to advanced Swedish
Additional experiences:
Experience from Automotive Industry and interest in Heavy Vehicles is meriting.
