Patents, trademarks and other Intellectual property rights are central in developing and maintaining SCA’s competitive advantage across the globe and constitute an important building block in our business strategy. The SCA Intellectual Property (IP) Department is globally responsible for all our IP activities and is strategically positioned within our Global Hygiene Category.We are now looking for an IP Director who will be responsible for leading and managing all Intellectual property activities globally within one category. As IP Director, you report to the Vice President of the IP Department and will be expected to coach and lead a team of IP professionals working across the full spectrum of Intellectual Property management activities. The IP Director is the operational head of the category specific portfolio and IP strategy addressing ways of leveraging the full potential of the IP portfolio for maximum value creation.
The position is located in Gothenburg.
Main Tasks
Lead, develop and manage IP Team to execute on business needs
Collect and structure input to Category IP Strategy recommendation and other related strategies
Responsible for optimizing and developing the Category IP portfolio
Plan and make recommendations for portfolio reviews
Lead and manage IP litigation in the Category
Handle IP budget for the category and liaise with Controller IP
Responsibility for selected IP tools
Overall responsibility for IP education/training in the category and relevant business
Developing and managing the IP department as member of the Intellectual Property Management Team
Experience and Key Competencies
Required Education & Experience
Master's Degree and experience/comprehensive understanding of IP required
Strong coaching, feedback and leadership abilities
10+ years of experience within relevant fields, preferably on an international scale
Experience in managing Intellectual property issues in consumer goods, and/or manufacturing industries is a plus
High level of skills in English, both written and oral. Working knowledge of other languages is a merit
