hela Sverige ABB's High Voltage Cables (HVC) business unit, based in Karlskrona southern Sweden and part of the group's Power Systems division, currently has an opening for a talented installation proposal manager. HVC offers a unique production environment for the manufacture of advanced cable technologies for a wide variety of offshore and land-based applications for the worldwide market. As part of our Field Installation Marketing & Sales group, you will be based at bour Karlskrona facility, and have a key role facing customers and suppliers, and co-ordinating closely with ABB colleagues in projects with global coverage.
Task:
In this demanding, varied role, your primary tasks will be the interpretation of specific technical, commercial and legal customer requirements, often to deadlines, to ensure the delivery of turnkey, market-leading solutions that meet challenging customer expectations. As well as working closely with our sales managers and other ABB departments, you will evaluate plus negotiate project details with subcontractors, and participate in customer negotiations. You will produce detailed installation method descriptions, schedules, quotation calculations, and all other necessary documentation for submission to customers. Other duties include providing installation tender support throughout project execution, experience of which you will be expected to use to further improve our tender processes going forward.
Recuirerments:
Ideally, you have a Bachelor's of Master's degree in Contract/Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, (construction related economics), or Engineering. You have practical experience of contractual and commercial issues, cost calculations, and scheduling operations. An effective negotiator, you have experience of construction procurement and risk management. Verbal and written proficiency in English is required, Swedish is preferable, but not essential, and you are a confident, skilled communicator. You have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project. Given the scope of our customer base, you will be expected to travel when required; this will involve primarily short duration trips within Europe but potentially further afield.
Currently, you work in one of the following sectors: offshore, cable installation, civil engineering, quantity surveying or contract management, project management, or construction. Previous experience of offshore operations or cable installations may be advantageous but not critical.
