Specific subject description

This position regards at least one post-doc position in innovation studies. Their research should be linked to at least one of CIRCLEs five research platforms:

• Innovation and Entrepreneurship
• Innovation, Skills and Strategies
• Innovation Systems and Innovation Policy
• Globalization of Innovation
• Sustainable Transitions

Research at CIRCLE aims to understand how innovation can help tackle societal challenges, like economic crises, climate change or increased globalization of economic activities. This requires understanding of how knowledge is created and diffused in organizations, networks, regions and countries, how knowledge is turned into innovations, and which conditions promote the diffusion of innovation to enhance its impact on society. CIRCLE is well known internationally because of its systemic approach to innovation and innovation policy, and its spatial approach to innovation, especially on National and Regional Innovation System. Job assignments

The task associated with this position is primarily research. The holder of the position is expected to conduct research that adds to and extends CIRCLEs research and help CIRCLE to achieve its research vision. The position is a qualifying appointment focused on research, with intention to be an initial career step.

Other duties for this position are to attract external funding for additional research, organization of research activities (such as conferences, special sessions, seminars and workshops) and/or teach ? in English or Swedish ? at CIRCLE or at other centres and departments of Lund University. CIRCLE operates in English, and most courses offered by CIRCLE are also taught in English. Another duty is to pursue third task activities, i.e. to cooperate with society and to provide information on research and education.

Eligibility/Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the position as Post doctor the applicant must have a PhD in a relevant research area.

The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.

Basis of Assessment

In the assessment of the applicants, special importance will be given to academic qualifications in research on innovation studies, with a specific focus on research within the confines of CIRCLEs research platforms. Preference will be given to applicants with competences and interests that span several platforms. The following criteria will constitute the basis for the assessment of applicants for the position:

• Documented ability to develop and conduct research of high international quality
• A promising publication record during and after completing the PhD
• Pedagogical ability
• Documented ability to engage and inform society at large, in relation to research, educational and developmental activities

Experience attracting research funding and to initiate, organize and carry out research projects and activities, individually as well as in cooperation with others will be considered a merit.
