What is this?
As an Innovation Lead at Operations Development, you will have the responsibility of leading innovations, from a fluffy idea to something solid that we test and evaluate. At Axis innovation is central and most often connected to our products and services. This role is different! You will work with organizational innovation i.e., concepting new technologies, workways and methods to pave the way for managing Operations future challenges.
You will report to the Director of Operations Development but have a dotted line to the Innovation Lab Manager in our Operations Development team. Daily work will be done in close collaboration with Innovation Lab Manager.
What will you do? Are you the one we are looking for?
We are looking for someone with an engineering education, most likely from Industrial Engineering & Management, Innovation Management, or a similar background. Your studies were probably focused on Supply Chain Management with good academic results, and you have at least 5 years professional experience of Project Management in an innovative context. You are ambitious and social - teamwork and collaboration are essential in the role as Innovation Leader. In addition, you need to have the ability to inspire others and paint the bigger picture.
The role has three areas of responsibilities (roughly!):
* Lead new innovations from definition to prototyping, testing and evaluation. The best ideas will need to be prepared for handover. A typical innovation team consist of 3-5 experts, dreamers, and doers.
* Find new ideas in our organization through workshops, lectures and by "being out there".
* Bring new ideas through innovation scouting. Find out what's the latest (and sometimes greatest) through benchmark, external networking and reading lots of relevant publications.
To be successful you need to have a strong drive and the ability to work independently. You thrive in an environment where you plan your own activities and take responsibility for the result. Most of the ideas will not drop down on your feet but will need some digging to be found. Strong communication skills in English is an absolute requirement. You enjoy holding creative workshops and have previous experience of innovation management methodologies such as design thinking. It will certainly be an advantage if you have driven change in a cross organizational context of Axis' size before. Since we are a truly global company some international travelling must be expected.
