The purpose of this job within Oriflame
The Purchasing department within Oriflame consists of a New Product Development (NPD) part and a Strategic Sourcing part. The buyer is an important member of the NPD team for its specific category. In the category team, Purchasing work together with Packaging, Marketing, R&D, Planning and Artwork to ensure successful launches of new products. Each year, Oriflame launches an extensive number of new products, which equates to approximately 100 new products in each category.
Within the NPD process, Purchasing?s main deliverables are to estimate costs for different product options, find, negotiate and select suppliers for all products and ensure that the suppliers are fulfilling Oriflame?s requirements and strategic sourcing policy.
As a Buyer you will be responsible for managing a lot of NPD projects with tight deadlines and maintaining cost in the system. Another important part of the job is the responsibility for a number of suppliers and also the strategy for certain product groups within the category. You will be part of maintaining a good and reliable supplier base providing the best total cost for the company.
Your key responsibilities in this position are:
NPD
• Be responsible for and manage NPD projects from brief stage to delivery
• Liaise with the other functions in the category to ensure that the right decisions are made for supplier selection
• Negotiate and set cost for the NPD projects that is managed
• Support Strategic Sourcing in introducing new suppliers within the category (or commodity)
Strategic Purchasing
• Supplier relationship management
• Negotiate cost and conditions for overall supplier business
• Manage under Category Manager delegation projects linked to cost saving, lead time reduction etc
• Support and also lead projects related to multiple sourcing in different regions (primarily in the CIS and Asia)
You should have the following qualifications, competencies:
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Business (or equivalent degree)
• Fluency in English
• At least two years work experience within purchasing
• Supplier management experience
• Experience from working in a manufacturing company
