hela Sverige The global Network and Telecom function within Infrastructure Management is responsible for the development and financial control of products within the Network & Telecom area. The function consists globally of 50 senior engineers and functional managers driving the Network & Telecom area. The Network Management sub-area manages infrastructure information to provide our customers with solutions to manage their IT solutions in an effective way.
To stay at the cutting edge and meet our customers' high demands we need to strengthen our team with a highly motivated Infrastructure Technical Specialist within the Network Management area.
About the job:
The Infrastructure Technical Specialist works in an international team of experts on Network Management within Volvo IT. This includes driving the development of new technology, design of new solutions and ensuring the operations have access to appropriate documentation. The life cycle management of the solutions includes development, vendor management and vendor selection. The role also involves giving support to colleagues within IT production and operation.
The main responsibilities for a Infrastructure Technical Specialist are:
• The functionality, quality and life cycle planning of the product area
• The product development plans being in line with Volvo IT strategy, business requirements and technological developments
• Maintenance and global 3rd level support according to Volvo IT's common process
• Product development on a global market
• Information and documentation about the products including training and installation routines
• Change management when it comes to system efficiency and / or reduce operation or maintenance costs
In the Network Management area we use products like Netcool, Proviso, CiscoWorks, Netflow tracker and Cisco Secure ACS, running on UNIX and Windows systems. There are a lot of activities within the area and challenging opportunities. You will have good possibilities to influence and excellent options for personal development and training.
Qualifications and skills required:
For this position, we are seeking a senior technician that may have leader experience in the IT field.
You need to have a broad technical knowledge within the Network and telecom area and deep knowledge of Network Management tolls and methods. You also need to have skills in Proviso, Netcool, CiscoWorks, Netflow tracker or some of the other products and knowledge in Unix operating system is meriting.
The general qualifications are that you have an adequate academic qualification and that you are a communicative team-player. You have to have the ability establish and maintain good relations and also have the ability to work in global, multi-cultural organization. You also have to be proficient in both spoken and written English and Swedish.
