Our environments today consists of more than 90000 centrally managed desktops. Our main customer is the Volvo group but we also provide desktop solutions for external customers such as Stockholm City.
The Volvo IT global Desktop area is looking for a senior Infrastructure Architect who is responsible for creating viable infrastructure solutions that fulfills the needs of the stakeholders, complies with strategies, roadmaps and standards and has the ability to balance quality attributes such as functionality, security, availability, maintainability and performance.
Key responsibilities
You will work together with Solution Architects in different areas and be accountable for desktop infrastructure design within Infrastructure Management & Operations (IMO) and Managed Client & Collaboration Services (MCCS) with a high level of complexity, also including QA environment. Furthermore you will participate in different projects, development, maintenance and enhancement activities but also in future solution roadmap planning & requirements for existing and new infrastructure components.
Technical competence requirements:
Broad experience in Desktop areas like:
Windows Server (2003 & 2008)
Windows Desktop (XP and Windows7)
Windows Scripting knowledge
Group Policy and Preference technologies
Windows Deployment Services
System Center Configuration Manger
Citrix technologies
Active Directory Design
Network communications (DNS, DHCP etc)
Storage technologies
Apple OSX
Who are you?
You have a natural driving force, you are service-minded, communicative and have a good ability to cooperate. You enjoy inspiring, encourage and motivate others and working in an international environment. Furthermore you have workshop facilitation abilities and are willing to share skills within the team.
We want you to have a Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or other training and experience required for the specific position. You have experience from working with infrastructure architecture in large-scale project with high complexity and technical project leadership experience. For this position you also have to have a strong technical engineering background in one or more environments, minimum of five years.
