CBSS har årligen roterande ordförandeskap som för närvarande innehas av Tyskland. Det huvudsakliga arbetsområdena för de 11 anställda är ekonomiskt samarbetet, demokratifrågor, utbildning, energisamarbete, miljösamarbete mfl. akutella utrikespolitiska ämnen. Sekretariatet består av 8 olika nationaliteter och har engelska som officiellt arbetsspråk.
According to its Terms of Reference, the mandate of the Secretariat of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) includes the implementation of the "Information and Communication Strategy for the CBSS".
The CBSS website shall provide the basis for a one-stop-shop that gives an overview of the activities and projects implemented by the CBSS and its cooperation partners. Thus, ensuring a better understanding of and inter-connection between the current wide range of activities taking place in the Baltic Sea Region.
Together with the Press and Communications Officer, you will create a new website and a new extranet. This is an exciting project for someone that has an interest in working with web-pages, likes computers and wants to learn more.
The position will serve the entire CBSS network by developing and overseeing the organisation's web presence to ensure that web technology enhances the CBSS mission and serves the CBSS Secretariat by planning and implementing the use of information technology to improve efficiency and productivity.
The incumbent is expected to have both strong technical and creative capacity as well as excellent interpersonal communication skills. The role entails the necessity to work in close collaboration with all staff members of the CBSS Secretariat.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Press and Communications Officer the position encompasses the following main duties:
• Assist in the process to develop a new CBSS website, ensuring that the site is visually appealing, versatile, user friendly and organisationally coherent.
• Assist in publishing and preparing content in the organizations portal, extranet and internet websites and is also compatible with the CBSS ECM - W3D3.
• Evaluate and maintain consistency and quality, reviewing content with relevant units in the Secretariat to ensure accurate, up-to-date and easily-accessed information.
• Create Acrobat PDF files from MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel files.
• Insert metadata properties to documents.
• Archive images and publications
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Relevant education as webmaster or equivalent experience, and adequate IT knowledge.
• Experience from web editing and design programs, programming languages such as SQL and HTML, content development,
• Experience from web publishing, information architecture, and browser-platform compatibility issues.
• Experience or familiarity with Dreamweaver/Macromedia/Flash, FrontPage, Adobe Photoshop, Content Management Systems and software programs such as word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and document management.
• High level of proficiency to independently plan, organise and carry out work tasks within deadlines.
• Service oriented work style, with ability to work effectively and harmoniously at all levels in an international and diverse team
• Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Swedish language skills are an advantage.
• Creative thinking - use of architectural design programmes a plus
