General information about Malmö University
Since its inception in 1998, Malmö University has grown into the country's eighth largest institution of higher education with 25 000 students. Its education and research programmes are distinguished by their multidisciplinary, problem-oriented approach and social relevance. The university offers students a range of courses in four faculties and one school: Culture and Society, Health and Society, Odontology, Teacher Education and Technology and Society.
Faculty of Culture and Society
The Faculty of Culture and Society is a multidisciplinary faculty that includes the School of Arts and Communication, the Department of Global Political Studies, the Department of International Migration and the Ethnic Relations, the Department of Urban Studies and the Centre for Widening Participation.
Your duties
As an information officer in the Faculty of Culture and Society, you will work in a team of four information officers. Your primary responsibility is to support the faculty?s internationalisation work. Our main target audiences are international students abroad interested in studying at the university, international students and staff at Malmö University and partner universities all over the world.
You will support the faculty by creating the faculty?s English content, on the web and in print. Also included in your responsibilities and duties are conducting interviews and writing, editing, proofreading and translating articles and documents about a variety of topics, for example research and education. You will also have the opportunity to use social media to promote and support the faculty.
Qualifications
We are looking for a person with a Bachelor?s degree or equivalent, preferably in journalism, marketing, communications or public relations. You are fluent in English, especially in written. You have editorial skills, good written and spoken Swedish proficiency and a kknowledge of a CMS tool, Adobe Photoshop and of course MS Office.
It is an advantage if you have a background in international PR and marketing with a focus on a young target group.
Previous experience of similar key duties in an academic environment and familiarity with academic administrative terminology in Swedish and English is an asset.
We are looking for a team player with social and networking skills, planning and operational excellence and who is professional and service oriented.

Working hours
Part-time, 50%
Starting date: 22 August 2011 or by agreement. Duration: Until 31 August 2012 with possibility of extension.
