CEVT is an innovation centre for the future cars of the Geely Group with the purpose of being at the forefront of new developments in the automotive industry. Since 2013 CEVT has grown rapidly and now keeps some 2000 people busy. China Euro Vehicle Technology AB is a subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.

The Vehicle Integration unit at CEVT is responsible for the development of customer unique selling points in terms of fulfilling attribute requirements in a customer profile. Typically, different disciplines like Energy Efficiency, Energy consumption, Chassis, Ride and handling are continuously evaluated via virtual development tools. These tools are applied in development projects in a gate structure and are the core of CEVT knowhow for fast development.
With the current electrification level of vehicles - Big data driven prediction of battery health is becoming increasingly important in the development of new vehicles and platforms.
Major changes to vehicle usage in the future through electrification is one example, but also when vehicles are running in Autonomous Driving mode. When the vehicles will run partly or completely in Autonomous Driving mode this will also put new demands of understanding the health of the battery.
As an industrial PhD, you will be employed by the CEVT Vehicle Integration team and take part in the PhD program at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Chalmers University of Technology, as a full-time PhD student in the division Systems and Control. You will report to the Erik Preihs and Sven Sjöberg, CEVT AB, and receive your academic supervision from Torsten Wik and Changfu Zou.
The focus in this project is on improving the understanding of how future demands will change the requirements and perception of battery life and charging control strategy's - techniques that need to be developed due to new driving habits and behaviors. The objective is to deepen the knowledge about the opportunities of big data models to influence the early design phase as well as making a technology available to create control strategy's to further explore opportunities.
