We serve as internal consultants and work with equipment from small hand held tools to heavy machinery. Our clients are all divisions within the four Business Areas. Our major brands are Atlas Copco, Chicago Pneumatic and Dynapac.
We are now looking for creative and self-driven interaction designers that want to join us to create Atlas Copco:s future products, equipment, tools and systems.
About the job
Your most important tasks are going to be:
Creation of visionary sketches
Development of feasible concepts
Detailed design definition
Support engineering during the implementation phase
Raise design issues during development projects
You are also going to work with:
Functional analysis, Product graphics, Product color schemes
Re-branding, Creation of physical models, Development of symbols and creation of safety signs according to current standards, Definition of standards and methods
We utilize traditional design tools (sketch by hand) and industry standard hardware and software tools in our work: Cintiq, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, MindManager and AfterEffects and presentation tools such as Powerpoint, InDesign and CAD/3D tools such as Keyhot, Rhino, Cinema4D, 3DStudioMax and ProEngineer.
An important task is monitoring general trends within industrial design as well as researching the efforts of our competition and other manufacturers of heavy equipment and professional tools within the areas of industrial design, ergonomics, etc.
At the Industrial Design Competence Center in Örebro, you are going to have an extensive cooperation with the Group:s engineering, marketing and communication departments as well as external consultancies. You will lead your projects, report to your team leader and work with various scales of projects and platforms in various teams. You will have great responsibility and play a crucial role in bringing the Group:s innovative and trend setting products and solutions to market.
About you
You have a Masters degree as an industrial designer, product designer or transportation designer (Master of Arts, Master of Fine Arts or Master of Design). You constantly seek innovative design solutions and have strong industrial design skills, complimenting technical understanding with your sensitivity towards usability and user experience. You are very proficient in Adobe CS, have good modeling skills in ProEngineer or Rhino, sketch outstanding both on paper and Cintiq and are an experienced model maker. Experience of industrial design within vehicle industry, heavy machine industry or business-to-business products is an advantage, also if you have been working with Man-Machine-Interaction and ergonomics.
You are a very creative, driven and goal-oriented self-starter with a strong urge to accomplish results. You have a positive attitude, are pro-active, tend to see solutions and strive for improvements. You are great team player and have the ability to get things done. You are well structured and organized and have a strong sense of ownership, taking responsibility and leading until a successful conclusion.
