Although we offer translation, editing and proofreading services within different areas of expertise, we specialize in the translation of Christian literature (books, tracts, sermons) belonging to the Anabaptist tradition.
• Proofread and edit translations before they are delivered to the client
• Translate doctrinal books, tracts, sermons and other kind of Christian literature from English to Igbo
• Improve the output of our machine translation software
• Maintenance of translation memories and terminology databases
• Excellent command of both the English and the Igbo languages (one of these should be the native language of the successful candidate)
• Impeccable Bible knowledge and experience of working with the Scriptures
• Well acquainted with the doctrines of the conservative Anabaptist/Mennonite tradition
• Willingness to learn how to use CAT-tools and translation software
Previous experience is not needed, as we provide internal training in the use of translation software and CAT-tools, but an excellent command of English and Igbo is a must.
Please note that this is not a freelance position. The successful candidate has to be willing to relocate to Gothenburg where our office
is located.
Shortlisted candidates have to be willing to submit a sample test (300 words) that will be used to assess his/her translation/proofreading skills.
