For AstraZeneca we are now looking for an In vitro Scientist in the field of Cellbiology and Immunology for a consultant assignment for 12 month with possibility for extension.

Publiceringsdatum2015-10-13Dina arbetsuppgifterDrug Safety and Metabolism provides the preclinical safety and DMPK assessment of therapeutic modalities across the value chain.Translational Safety delivers quantitative translational models for functional and pathological safety signals and is highly diverse with expertise in Safety Pharmacology, Safety Target Organs, Technology Development, Modelling and Informatics as well as Bioanalysis and Toxicokinetics.
You will have a direct impact on the delivery of novel in vitro assay systems and in generating data in the area of immunotoxicology with a special focus on nucleotide modalities.
As an in vitro Scientist in Immunology will be working with:
• Develop and implement in vitro assays and technologies in the immunotoxicology area with a special focus on nucleotide modalities
• Design and execute in vitro experiments
• Delivery of experimental data for in-house studies as well as for potential collaborations
• Identify opportunities to improve research methods
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical advances
• Share experience, knowledge and developments with peer scientists in AstraZeneca
• Work closely with other scientists within and outside Translational Safety
• Close interactions with the Immunotoxicology target organ expert
• Contribute to publications and presentations
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with appropriate Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), quality and compliance standards, e.g. Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
Utbildning/erfarenhet
You ave a Ph.D. in the area of natural sciences or M.Sc with comparable working experiences and a background in Immunology (Ph.D. and/or working experiences). You have theoretical and practical knowledge and experience of techniques and technologies relevant to In vitro systems, including cell culture and cell-based assay systems utilising cell lines and primary cells. Additionally you are experienced in the development, implementation and application of In vitro/ Ex vivo Immunoassays and experience in analysis of data and applying QC criteria. Preferred experience with working with flow cytometry and other multiplex technologies such as luminex or MSD. Basic knowledge of the safety area and/ or specifically related to immunotoxicology is a plus as well as previous experience working in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
