AstraZeneca is a global, innovation-driven biopharmaceutical business that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines for some of the world?s most serious diseases. But we're more than one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. At AstraZeneca, we're proud to have a unique workplace culture that inspires innovation and collaboration. Here, employees are empowered to express diverse perspectives - and are made to feel valued, energized and rewarded for their ideas and creativity.
Our function
Drug Safety and Metabolism is a function within Innovative Medicines and Early Development (IMED), AstraZeneca?s small molecule biotech unit, which delivers candidate drugs into late-stage clinical development. The role of Drug Safety and Metabolism is to characterize the non-clinical toxicology, off-target pharmacology and ADME properties of compounds, supporting all phases of drug discovery and development.
The In Vitro ADME sections in Gothenburg, Sweden and Cambridge, UK, respectively are responsible for providing scientific and experimental expertise in support of the AstraZeneca portfolio and input into defining and delivering key DMPK related strategies. We develop and apply cutting edge technologies and push the boundaries of predictive ADME science with our mission in mind: to discover effective and safe innovative medicines for the patients that need them.
The Gothenburg team is recruiting a senior In Vitro ADME specialist to challenge our current scientific understanding, to make significant contributions to the success of a number of IMED projects and to work with a great team that pushes the boundaries of DMPK science to further enhance our external scientific reputation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented ADME scientist to join a strong team at the forefront of DMPK science, to innovate and support the portfolio of a major pharmaceutical company that has science at its heart and a tremendously strong pipeline whilst being based in the wonderful city of Gothenburg, Sweden.
The role
The role requires being recognised in a relevant scientific area, and to lead this from the laboratory, making significant contributions to the practical delivery of project goals, whilst working collaboratively with DMPK colleagues locally as well as globally.
