The Opportunity:

We are now looking for dynamic technical experts to work as IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) Support Engineers, joining the MELA Support & Repair team, which is responsible to provide technical service and support to all major customers in the Market Area.

This role will give you exciting opportunities to work with such multiple customers in Europe, helping them troubleshoot faults at both solution and product levels, and to to stabilize and optimize their networks. IMS is one of the fasted growing Customer Support domain in MELA, with lots of customers transforming their networks to add virtualized IMS solutions. We are expanding our team to cater to this growing scope. You will also have opportunities to configure and integrate different nodes and solutions in new and live customer networks.

The Support Engineer typically interacts with customer technical staff, operation managers, service engineers and other groups within the Ericsson's and customer's Service Delivery organizations. You may also interact with groups in sales, R&D, 3rd party suppliers and local authorities. As there are no distinct borders between these areas, you will need to be flexible and master more than one of them. Although the majority of the support activities will be delivered remotely there is also an expectation that occasionally international travel may be required and therefore important that there has been exposure to different cultural environments.

The technical development is rapid and you are responsible for continuously keeping your competence and skills up to date. Working as a Support Engineer will require a broad knowledge within the telecom and datacom domains, covering both hardware, software and network knowledge. You will work, collaborate, and communicate in an international environment, both with colleagues internally, as well as with customers and suppliers to Ericsson. The role more than often requires you to take a big responsibility and it is important that you can work independently. The role is advertised as UK location but as the role is location independent it can be delivered from your current location.

Job Responsibilities:

• Customer Issue handling.
• Handling of dedicated support.
• Software Update Management (SUM) handling.
• Customer Access Security (CAS)/Remote Service Gateway (RSG) mentoring.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science or equivalent.
• Expert technical knowledge on IMS products: (2+ years of experience).
• Extensive experience from support services (3+ years), including supporting customer issues' troubleshooting, resolution & delivery.
• Domain experience: IMS (SBG, vSBG, MTAS, vMTAS, CSCF, vCSCF, MGC, vMRS, WCG nodes/solutions).

You have:

• Experience working with Integration of IMS products listed above.
• Willing to be on call 24/7 on rotation basis to handle customer issues and/or emergency incidents.
• Flexibility to travel to customer sites on a need basis for support or integration, sometimes on short notice.
• Ability to support customers with the right direction and to the right stakeholders depending on the issue.
• To work on Ericsson standard support tools for tickets' update such as CSR (Customer Service Request), MHWeb, Metis, etc.
• Experience providing solution level support to customers.
• Motivation to assist other new team members in mentoring and knowledge sharing
