The arena
AstraZeneca's Imaging group is part of the Personalised Healthcare and Biomarkers research function that provides specialist technical expertise in support of drug projects across the organization. The imaging group supports biomarker discovery and validation to enable the transition of candidate molecules through the value chain of drug development. The site in Gothenburg, Sweden, uses purpose-built facilities with state of the art equipment which includes two dedicated pre-clinical MRI scanners, one pre-clinical SPECT/CT and a microCT scanner. The role holder will provide scientific and technical imaging biomarker expertise and deliverables to drug project teams following a Personalised Healthcare and Biomarkers proprosition. Specifically, the role holder will be accountable for the delivery of scientific data packages by developing and applying imaging outcome measures in rodent and/or man. In addition, utilizing imaging to measures pharmacological manipulations in target tissue as well as the development of potential patient segmentation outcome measures. This will include working in collaboration with internal stakeholders to align study rationale/hypothesis, the design of scientific experiments, and implementation of studies and delivery of data which contributes to the advancement of candidate molecules through the value chain of drug development.
The role
The group is looking for an experienced imaging scientist to join the team. The person should have a good track record of developing and delivering imaging methodologies and biomarkers for in vivo biomedical research.
