WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As Image Sensor Engineer you will join a small but highly skilled and experienced team that drives the image sensor area within Axis. The team and you will work in close cooperation with our image sensor vendors, evaluating their sensors, getting to the bottom of the sensor's performance and challenges, and via this work and knowledge contribute to Axis future products and continued world class image quality.
Your main tasks will be to:
Interact with Axis image sensor vendors, understand their roadmaps and technical evolution, challenge them, evaluate them, propose which sensors to use in future products and provide information on why.
Evaluate image sensors in our lab, understand their behavior and limitations, understand how they interact with the lenses and our image processing, handle issues and problems related to sensors, and bring this knowledge to our product organization and to our vendors.
Further improve our sensor evaluation lab, propose and evaluate new equipment, evolve our measurement methodologies, automation and scripts, evolve our methodology around how we evaluate sensors in the camera system, etc.
Some travelling is encouraged since we are convinced that meeting our vendors at their sites is an essential part of our cooperation. 2-3 long-distance trips per year might be desired.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have an interest in physics, imaging, labs and measurements. You are eager to get to the bottom of challenges and problems, and are careful with details and overall well organized. You have a university degree in physics or electronics. Mathematics comes natural to you, you find it easy to model thoughts and physical behavior. You are good at programming, and can describe problems and solutions in Matlab, C and/or python. An interest in photography is a merit.
The role as Image Sensor Engineer is collaborative and requires the ability to interact with people inside and outside the organization. You have good communication skills and are fluent in English, both written and verbal. You are self-reliable and have an interest to develop yourself and your area of responsibilities, and combine this with being humble and easy to cooperate with.
THE CORE TECHNOLOGIES IMAGING TEAM
The Core Technologies Imaging team is responsible for the development of the imaging processing architecture, features and algorithms, as well as for the camera image sensors, the lenses, and the interaction between all of them. We are responsible for the contacts and interaction with Axis image sensor and lens vendors, and meet all our vendors on a regular basis. We represent image processing, image sensors and lenses when deciding the Axis roadmap, and deliver technology platforms on which the product development organization builds cameras. The team is also a competence center for the R&D organization in areas of image processing, image sensor and optics technologies.
