Our name is IKEA Communications, or ICOM as most people call us. We're the IKEA communication partner and create everything from the IKEA website to the annual IKEA catalogue, brochures, assembly instructions and motion media. You'll find us a stone's throw from the first IKEA store, in Älmhult Sweden.
IKEA's websites and digital media inspire hundreds of millions of IKEA customers all over the world. IKEA Communications is responsible for designing and help developing the majority these sites and platforms. It's our task to make them interesting, up to date and easy to use. To keep up with demand, we need to strengthen our organization. Our web assignment is growing fast and with it our need for skilled and motivated coworkers. We are now looking for new colleagues who want to contribute to IKEA.com
We are looking for a User Experience Specialists to strengthen our web team. As a User Experience Specialists you will contribute to the user-centered design process including: research methods, user interviews, personas, wireframes, information architecture diagrams, screen designs, interaction designs and UI specifications. Broken up, this can be summed up within these sentences:
• Get to know the IKEA.com visitor
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Increase the user experience knowledge within ICOM and inspire for a better understanding of the IKEA.com visitors
• Contribute to solutions on IKEA.com from a user experience perspective
• Defining, preparing, conducting and follow up of relevant user/usability tests
• Demonstrate/test solutions or specific functionality through demos, prototypes or mockups in order to easier prioritize or set a direction within a project
• Design functionality to create the best possible user interaction
• Be up to date with the latest in web communication & techniques
• Create and maintain general interaction and functionality guidelines for IKEA.com
• Contribute to make ICOM communicate the IKEA brand and products in a consistent and user-friendly way.
• Co-operate with IT, production companies and IKEA Services in order to integrate, produce, and implement the solutions in the best possible way
We want you to have an academic education in interaction design, web design or equivalent and a user-centric usability way of thinking. We want you to have good knowledge of visual layout tools such as e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks.
Html, CSS, Javascript and/or Flash for interactive prototyping.
