Our name is IKEA Communications, or ICOM as most people call us. We're the IKEA communication partner and create everything from the IKEA website to the annual IKEA catalogue, brochures, assembly instructions and motion media. You'll find us a stone's throw from the first IKEA store, in Älmhult Sweden.
IKEA's websites and digital media inspire hundreds of millions of IKEA customers all over the world. IKEA Communications is responsible for designing and help developing the majority these sites and platforms. It's our task to make them interesting, up to date and easy to use. To keep up with demand, we need to strengthen our organization. Our web assignment is growing fast and with it our need for skilled and motivated coworkers. We are now looking for new colleagues who want to contribute to IKEA.com
We are looking for an information architect to strengthen our web team.
As an information architect you will you will contribute to improve the overall structure of the IKEA website. This can be broken up in to these sentences:
• Evaluate that business requirements, technical requirements and overall IKEA needs are met by the needs from the visitor.
• Develop, document and communicate information and interaction solutions in the form of user flows, site maps, wireframes, prototypes, site structures and user interface specifications.
• Plan and evaluate usability tests.
• Make recommendations based on reports, user tests and best practices in user interface design.
• Educating and inform co-workers about the site framework, navigation and site structure.
• Follow through the process and work closely with interaction designers and web designers to implement the solutions.
• Co-operate with IKEA IT, production companies and IKEA Services in order to integrate, produce, and implement the solutions in the best possible way.
• Watch and analyze visitor behavior.
• Secure that information and interaction solutions are feasible in the production and development phases as well as on the live site.
We want you to have an academic education in interaction design, information architecture or equivalent. It is desirable if you also have experience in usability, accessibility and web technologies.
