The Certification and Regulations, Power and Propulsion team at Scania work with the certification of conventional and electrical powertrains for both on-road and non-road applications. We are now looking for a new colleague to join our team and work with the certification of Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) and Electrified (e-power) solutions for Power Solution (Power Generation, Industrial and Marine) applications.

Tasks, Responsibilities and Challenges

The main tasks associated with this position are listed below. Please note, depending on your work experience and profile, the scope and depth of the tasks can be adjusted.

Working within a broad network, including product development, project planning and external bodies, you will be responsible for the complete certification chain;

• Monitoring legal requirements:
You will work through Scania's distributors and participate in lobbying activities.
• Analysing legal requirements:
Together with product development and other functions, you will provide valuable input to ensure that Scania's power units are developed to meet existing and future legal requirements.
• Certification of power units:
You will provide guidance and deliver interpretations to development engineers to allow them test engines, e-motors or batteries, including the creation of technical documentation. Towards the end of the certification process, the application for certification is formalized by compiling Scania's applications for certificates. For certification, you will be Scania's contact towards e.g. US EPA/CARB as well as marine classification societies like DNV GL.
• Market support:
To ensure compliance during the production life of the product, you will ensure the validity of certificates. You will support Scania's distributors in their national approval processes.

Your Profile

• You have an engineering degree.
• You have an understanding of ICE/e-power systems and type-approval experience.
• You are fluent in English (written and spoken) with the ability to create technical documentation.
• You have excellent communication skills, you are perceptive and can negotiate.
• You are a team player who enjoys working in broad internal/external networks.
• You are structured, have good coordination skills and that you enjoy working with details whilst be able to see the big picture.
