The International School of Helsingborg has provided a truly international education at the Primary and Secondary levels since 1995. Today, we have approximately 850 students between 2 and 19 years of age, across all programmes. We are an IB Continuum school, delivering the International Baccalaureate curriculum for all program levels. English is the primary language of learning at the school.

Job description
Our Diploma Programme History teacher has taken short term leave for medical reasons.As a result, we are currently seeking an ambitious history teacher to join our team. Would you like to join us?

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) history course is a world history course based on a comparative, multi-perspective approach to history and focused around key historical concepts such as change, causation and significance. It involves the study of a variety of types of history, including political, economic, social and cultural, encouraging students to think historically and to develop historical skills. In this way, the course involves a challenging and demanding critical exploration of the past. At ISH, the world topics that students study have a focus on 20th century history.

The successful candidate must be able to encourage independent inquiry and reflection. An IB Diploma teacher must also be structured in their approach to feedback and examination revision.

Qualifications
You possess a teaching degree in history and are qualified to teach at high school level (gymnasium). You have strong experience working within the school system.

It is a requirement for the candidate to be fluent in English, both in speaking and writing. The successful candidate will be a strong team player and have the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers as well as students and parents. You communicate proactively; support and care for others. It will be of great advantage to have experience of the IBDP and also to have previously worked within the international school system.

As a person, you are a positive, open-minded and flexible team player. You must demonstrate enthusiasm, warmth and strong interpersonal skills with children, parents, and colleagues and be committed to diversity and multicultural educational practices.
