Katedralskolan, Uppsala

Katedralskolan in Uppsala, founded in 1246 is one of Sweden's oldest schools. Today it is a modern upper secondary school with 1140 students. Katedralskolan has four university preparatory programmes (IB, Humanistic, Social Science and Natural Science Programmes) and one small vocational programme (Child and Care Programme). Katderalskolan gained its IB authorization in 2001 and has now grown to one of the biggest IB schools in Sweden with 230 students.

Dina arbetsuppgifter
Manage all aspects of student exam registration and record keeping on IBIS
Insure teacher adherence to IB specific curriculum, assessments and due dates
Assist teachers in their communications with the IB
Maintain a calendar of events for students/parents, faculty, and community
Oversee CAS and the Extended Essay in collaboration with the CAS and EE coordinators
Evaluate training needs for faculty, both immediate and long term in collaboration with Head of Programme, and book appropraite workshops
Insure the IB program is in line with the IB philosophy, IB mission statement, IB Learner Profile and Katedralskolan's mission and vision
Maintain clear communication with parents and students
Maintain and further develop education and marketing of the IB program to lower grades, prospective families, and the community at large
Keep faculty and staff informed of current IB Diploma developments
Take overall responsibility for the administration, safekeeping, invigilation and dispatch of all examination documents
Work closely with the management team

Kvalifikationer
The IB coordinator at Katedralskolan is a visible member of the school community and his/her role is to successfully administer and guide the Diploma Programme. The coordinator must have an international-minded approach with excellent communication skills in English and a will to actively promote the IB philosophy and the IB Learner Profile. Applicants must have an appropriate academic degree and a collaborative and stress-hardy personality. Experience of the IB Programme is a merit as well as experience as a leader and as an educator.
