Board Power Design at Lindholmen is responsible for research, development and maintenance of board power solutions to the majority of the Ericsson Product Portfolio. We are a part of the Ericsson's global design organization and engaged in developing products for the present and future mobile networks. At our site we are four sections forming a competence center with responsibility area to provide power solutions to the Ericsson organization.
Board Power Design Digital is now looking for an experienced HW designer with an interest in power solutions and analogue design. You will work in close cooperation with our SW team that design the power management SW and with other power design areas and with global power system suppliers. You will interact with design disciplines across Ericsson, such as digital design, system design and building practices. Co-operation with global production sites and other design centers in Sweden and China is part of the daily work. We use the latest design and simulation tools in order to reduce the power consumption and to increase the power density of Ericsson future products. Our competence center is based on team work with experienced and dedicated individuals. We believe that our employees are the key to our success. Primary location for this position is at Lindholmen, Gothenburg, Sweden
Job description
The job is in the area of product development and includes:
Board Power design (DC/DC converters, power architectures, POL converters, EMI filters)
Design and evaluation of components, protection circuitry, supervision and control functions
Contribute to the strategic analysis of future design trends
Application of simulation models and power budgets
Schematic design and support of board layout
Test and verification of DC/DC converters, -48V input stage, protection and supervision.
Production support
Qualifications
You take initiative and are willing to adopt new methods and techniques. You work well independently, but you are also a team player with good communication skills. You have worked some years within the field and have:
BSc or MSc degree in electrical engineering or equal;
Three years of experience from analogue design or equal;
Understanding of firmware and software design e.g. C, Labview and HP vee;
Skills in schematic drawing and experience from a laboratory environment (instruments, measurements, etc.);
Fluent in English.
Good to have
Communication protocols (TCP/IP, SM Bus, PM Bus);
Good knowledge of developing test systems using LabView or HP vee;
Experience from power design;
Experience from ASIC/FPGA design;
Experience with CM/PRIM/GASK, MHWeb and CQCR.
You have an analytical approach, a strong drive for results and customer focus. You have good communication and co-operation skills and the ability to take the initiative and adapt to new methods and techniques. Most of all you have an inquisitive mind, and a thirst for knowledge.
