HVDC System Development Engineer

You will be part of HVDC within the Power Systems division in Ludvika. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 50 years and is used to transmit power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems.

The HVDC System Design department is responsible for electrical design of HVDC plants. Rating studies, specification of high voltage equipment, definition of concepts for control and protection design as well as system studies are part of our scope of work. Tasks
Are you interested in becoming a member of our department focusing on R&D? You will, together with your fellow experts and specialists, push the boundaries of our frontline technology in the world's leading HVDC engineering company. You will work in all areas covered by the HVDC System Design departments, but with an open-minded R&D spirit as a guiding star. Are you our future system design specialist?

Requirements
You hold a Bachelor, Master's or PhD in electro, preferably with a major in electric power or engineering physics. Moreover you have a background in electro-technology, either from power systems or the telecommunications industry.

The successful candidate holds:
• Experience from tools such as MATLAB, PSCAD/EMTDC, PSSE and DIgSILENT's PowerFactory.
• A few years working experience within HVDC technology
• Experience from working at an R&D department

Moreover, you are a team player who wants to learn and share knowledge. You actively participate in the operative changes and follow and secure instructions and tools. In addition you are analytical, organized and strives to keep up front with, and develop, the newest technology. Your sense for and understanding of technology is the foundation for your interest in developing and becoming an expert in your area. Since we work in an international environment you need to master spoken and written English.
