HVAC Senior Engineer
Climate system department is responsible for all climate development within Volvo Car Corporation, e.g. heating, ventilation, AC systems and Controls. Climate system department is part of Vehicle Hardware unit within Volvo Car's Research and Development (today called Product & Quality) division. Currently we are about 90 employees divided into 5 groups. This position is within the HVAC, Air Quality & Air Distribution group.
The HVAC, Air Quality & Air Distribution group has today 19 men and women divided into three teams. We are a diverse team with different ages, backgrounds and experiences with open discussions and good fellowship within the group. As HVAC Senior Engineer you work within HVAC system team for new car programs.
Description of the position and responsibilities
As HVAC Senior Engineer you are responsible for HVAC projects in new car programs both in Concept and Industrialization phase. You will lead a cross-functional team consisting of Supplier, Design Engineers, Purchasing, SQM, Manufacturing engineer, Geometry assurance, testing aso and report the progress to the project and line management (time, technique and cost). Main responsibility is to take the supplier developed HVAC and integrate it into Volvo platform and tophats. The work demands a personality that drives all tasks effectively and finds ways to implement the best possible solution with no deviations regarding quality assurance. To be able to handle the HVAC integration and development projects you need to have extensive experience of HVAC development and HVAC functional knowledge.
Required qualifications
* Bachelor level degree in mechanical engineering
* Automotive knowledge and experience
* Project leading experience and good leadership skills
* Climate development experience
* HVAC development experience and/or HVAC functionality know-how
* Minimum 5 years working experience, with minimum 3 years within relevant area
* Supplier to OEM and/or OEM to supplier cooperation experience
* Ability to work independently and in a group
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driver's license "B, valid in Sweden
Meritorious qualifications
* Experience in testing and analysis
* Electrical development experience (SW/HW)
* Good knowledge in Thermodynamics

You need to be cooperative, transparent and hence possess excellent communicational skills. It is important to have the right approach for building relations and network within and outside the company. Further, we expect you to represent integrity, courage and personal energy.
