APM Terminals has a strong position in safety and environmental performance in the industry. We are now looking for a HSSE manager (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) who wants to continue to pursue the HSSE work in the Gothenburg terminal.
Apart from the role as HSSE manager the HSSE department consists of one employee who works as process assistant within HSSE and with quality improvements. The HSSE manager is part of the functional team in Gothenburg and report directly to the terminal's MD.
The role is strategic and operational and you will be part of the company's international network to further strengthen and develop safety and environmental activities including reoccurring analyzes of "best practice".
Locally the task is to ensure that APM Terminals Gothenburg follow the requirements of processes within the HSSE area both from the group and as per national and international laws. You will conduct training and work through the line organization to communicate strategies and provide advice and expertise. You are responsible for implementing the policies, processes and systems through training for the organization and you are responsible for reporting and evaluating risks and events within the HSSE area. This includes ensuring that all work in the safety and security issues and the handling of accident meets the requirements according to Swedish and international law as well as maritime law. You will obtain required environmental permits and develop, implement and manage environmental compliance programs related to for example air quality, solid waste, wastewater, storm water and oil spill prevention.
By being out in the field and supporting operations you will enforce that safety is carried out according to guidelines by supporting managers in production environment and share best practice with both managers and employees.
We see that you have a relevant academic degree and at least five years of experience of working with environment and safety within larger organizations. You are a person who are detailed-orientated to ensure that the work is done in the best way and in accordance to laws and regulations. You thrive to be visible within the organization to be able to carry out information and conduct training on how we can work with safety in a preventive as well as reactive manner.

APM Terminals Gothenburg is Scandinavia's largest container terminal with capacity to receive and manage the largest ocean-going ships in the world. Just over 50 percent of all containers to and from Sweden are shipped at this location. Ocean-going vessels are coming directly from all parts of the world and the terminal operates feeder ships from other ports in northern Europe. Approximately half of all containers to and from APM Terminals is transported by rail, which means significant environmental gains.
