Our Creative Design department is building a dedicated team for innovation and creation. We have a committed passion to create and deliver iconic and desirable global products suitable for volume production.
We are now looking for a HMI Designer!
Description
The Creative Design Department, that you will be part of, is incorporated in a bigger unit inside the Technical Development Organization. You will be part of a team of Creative Designers that covers the whole vehicle, and will work close with the Engineering Department. The work scope will be from advanced Design and concept studies to finish product. As HMI Designer you work with color and materials both interior and exterior and we put a lot of attention to sustainability.
The role involves:
• Flowchart of interactive elements (Menu structures, buttons, warnings)
• HMI requirements (ex. Timing, flash frequency etc.)
• Legal requirements in the automotive industry affecting HMI and the final
• Development of Instrument panel cluster and infotainment system.
• Work from initial concept through to deployment ready solutions.
• Coordinate with the wider organization to ensure designs are feasible and to develop design alternatives as needed.
• Attend to project and engineering meetings.
• Both internal and external contact interfaces.
• A close and regular cooperation with Engineering, Manufacturing engineering, Product Marketing, Purchasing and Suppliers.
• Prepare and present presentation material for design reviews.
• Building an HMI department within NEVS.
We are looking for someone who has:
• Minimum education of a Master of Science in Transportation Design or equivalent.
• Experience from development in relevant area, minimum 5 years.
• Experience at GUI design of Product (mobile, web, IT device or automobiles)
• Interaction prototyping (in code) desirable. (QT and KANZI or similar)
• Motion prototyping (ex. After Effects) skills are required.
• Photoshop, Alias, Maya, Illustrator or equivalent software experience.
• Documenting HMI requirements.
• Understanding of UI/UX design showing the ability to assess human-factors design and usability to ensure that interactions are fit for purpose.
• Experience with Asian OEM is positive.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written.

• Good communication skills, visual and verbally.
• Structured and analytical with good planning skills.
• Creative, solution oriented and open minded.
• Independent, confident as well as good team player.
• Have a talent for functional and technical thinking
• Strong drive, flexible and able to work under constrained time schedules a frequently revised circumstances.
