What do we offer?
Propulsion & Climate Labs is Volvo Cars' Centre for testing of propulsion systems, in complete vehicle as well as in component form. To meet the future, we need to utilize state of the art methods to test and verify next generation cars in an efficient and correct manner. Do you want to contribute to new features and methods in our propulsion test cells? Then the role as HIL Engineer for Propulsion & Climate Labs within the group Methods & Software is the place for you to prosper.

We support propulsion test facilities for vehicles, drivelines, electric motors, batteries, transmissions and combustion engines, as well as aerodynamic- and climatic wind tunnel testing. Our work consists of software preparation of testing, test automation, processing- and handling of measurement data and project initiation and -participation.

What you'll do
You will integrate Hardware-In-the-Loop systems, test cell control systems and test objects (electric motor-, battery-, combustion engine- and transmission controls) to enable smooth testing and the use of efficient testing methodology. You will participate in expanding HIL applications to new test environments, as well as expanding their scope in current applications.

You will also get the chance to be involved in making architecturally sound software decisions aiding future development and maintenance of our total software suite. In this role you will have the opportunity to build a broad network within R&D and the Laboratory.

Competence is Important
• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equal experience
• Modelling using Matlab/Simulink or similar simulation tools
• Knowledge in dSPACE and Vector systems is meritorious
• Experience from testing or similar work is meritorious

You have an analytical- and solution-based mindset, that empower your ability to draw technical conclusions out of complex systems. You improve structure and process as a natural part of your work. You are cooperative by nature and bring out the best in others.
