Today GM Powertrain Sweden has around 600 employees situated at two sites: controls-, engine development and engine production in Södertälje and integration, controls- and transmissions development, engine development and exhaust aftertreatment in Trollhättan.
Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Application Engineer
Duties:
As a HIL Application Engineer you will be working both with development of the test simulators (Hardware-In-the-Loop systems) as well as with test automation. The development work of the test simulators, which are used for manual and automated tests of powertrain controllers, consists of modelling, simulation, specification and setup of electrical interfaces. An import and part of this is to be responsible for the HIL-software which simulates engine/gearbox, vehicle and surroundings. The HIL-software is built with the help of Matlab/Simulink and real-time-workshop. The test automation part contains defining automation strategy, software development/architecture as well as running automated tests.
You will be a part of an international team with many contacts in Europe and US, where you will be working in close corporation with several departments within product engineering.
Background:
You have a M.Sc. in Engineering, Electrical/Automotive or university degree in engineering, with an interest for Controls Systems and engine development. You have knowledge of Matlab/Simulink and preferably also have basic knowledge of combustion engines and control technology. Previous experience with test systems or simulators, built-in real-time systems, CAN communication, test automation or software development is a merit.
You have good knowledge in English, both written and verbal, and find it easy to cooperate with GM colleagues in Europe and US.
