Experience in, or a willingness to teach, Swedish language in the IB Diploma (16 to 18 year olds), would be an advantage. The role is an exciting and varied opportunity and includes teaching students with a range of ability in Swedish. Our 'formal' students are taught and graded in line with the Swedish curriculum for Swedish and / or SVA. Our intermediate students have a good level of Swedish, but are not native speakers, and our 'conversation' students are non-native speakers, and are likely to only be in Sweden for a short period of time. The programme provides access to conversational Swedish and Swedish culture. The British International School of Stockholm (BISS), situated across a split site in Djursholm, is a true international school, run by the non-profit Foundation Borgen 2. We teach in English according to British and international curricula and cater for over 500 highly motivated, multilingual students, from more than 45 different countries. The school enjoys an excellent reputation for both its academic progress and achievement, and its pastoral care, providing a high quality international education for students aged 3 to 16. BISS is a vibrant and highly successful school meeting internationally recognised standards of excellence. As an international school, we do not belong to the Swedish school system, but are regulated and inspected by the British School Overseas inspection as well as by the Swedish Inspectorate. For further information on the school please visit our website
www.bisstockholm.se. The school is an accredited member of COBIS (the Council of British International Schools) and received an excellent BSO inspection report. We are therefore seeking an experienced Swedish teacher who is keen to make a difference and has great interest in language development. Ideally you will have drive, good organisational skills and an interest in teaching a range of age groups. Since over 90% of teachers at the school are British, you must be able to communicate fluently in English in speech and writing. To apply: Please email your CV, including details of two professional referees, and a letter of application detailing your experience and educational ethos to:
recruitment@bisstockholm.se Closing date: Ongoing. Interviews will take place immediately for suitable applicants. For further information and questions about the school, or to arrange a visit, please view our website
