The objective of our H&S policy is to establish a culture in which no accidents, injuries, work related ill-health or losses happen. For this Health and Safety (H&S) shall be an integrated part in all of activities and being a value instilled in all employees.

To support business units of Vattenfall, an H&S Business Unit (BU) Manager is in place, being a person with well-reputed H&S management experience.

Responsibilities: To be the designated business partner and management representative for the Business Units for H&S To provide a day to day H&S management support, as Business partner, to the Business Unit that is effective and suitable to realize H&S policy and objectives.
• Advices and supports BU's line organization in the implementation of certified H&S management systems in accordance with OHSAS 18001.
• Communicates (and support the implementation of) Group-wide H&S strategies and concepts, regulations and standards within the respective BU
• Leadership (pro active) for all aspects of H&S including objectives, schedules/programs, plans, resources, documentation, file structures, OHSAS18001 compliance, HS legal compliance, incident response/investigation within the BU
• Monitor, report and discuss the Health and Safety performance in the management team of the BU's To support and follow up process safety and technical integrity through all stages of project through the development and implementation of systems/programmes. In close cooperation with BU-line organisation make sure that Ensure BU / operating unit and corporate Objectives, Policies and Procedures are cascaded to and implemented in all parts of the BU
• Checks execution and effectiveness of H&S management systems, develops and implements ideas for improvement
• Implementation, review and monitoring of SF H&S governing model in the BU
• Verify compliance by all appropriate means (meetings, inspections, monitoring, and audits). Management of the BU H&S Department in a matrix organization
• Leading a small international team within a Matrix organisation
• Maintain a daily working relationship with H&S team, line management and contractors in relation of their respective compliance with the provisions of the H&S policies and legal requirements
• Participate in and where necessary lead the investigation of major incidents and high potential near misses.
• Ensure full, comprehensible and immediate reporting on relevant H&S issues to BU Head and heads of Legal Entities to the extent required by laws and regulations (in particular Swedish law)

Qualifications and Experience Relevant university degree or diploma as a Health & Safety Engineer/Work Environment Engineer 5-7 years experience in (H&S) management / risk management, preferably from working in the energy sector, and international work Or if qualified by experience: 10 years experience in H&S of which,5-7 years experience in HSE management / Work Environment Management/ risk management, preferably from working in the energy sector, and international work. Capability of working as a member in international teams Ability to work independently and set and meet own deadlines without supervision Ability to work well with all levels of management and support staff Ability to report/escalate when necessary in a clear and decisive way Knowing when and how to delegate tasks Ability to develop and utilize a business strategy and plan Fluent in English and Swedish (spoken and written)

Since you will be working in an international environment frequent travelling within our Vattenfall countries is required.
