Place of work: Embassy of Switzerland in Stockholm (local contract), with primary responsibility for projects in Finland and Sweden, regular travels inside Sweden and to Finland, and further traveling to other Nordic Countries and Switzerland.
The Swiss Business Hub Nordics (SBHN) represents the Zurich-based international trade and investment promotion agency Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE), and is responsible for implementing Swiss export strategies in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden (Nordics). As the main point of contact for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Switzerland and Liechtenstein, the SBHN offers a broad range of services, such as market information and analysis, certification support, search for distributors, local representatives and partners, sales development, and more. It also coordinates and organizes Swiss pavilions at large trade fairs. Moreover, the SBHN promotes Switzerland as a business and investment location (IP).
Duties:
• Strategic, operational and administrative management of the Swiss Business Hub Nordics; Coordination and management of clients' inquiries and projects in the Nordics:
• Managing the SBHN in organisational, personnel, administrative and financial terms in accordance with the guidelines of the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and in strategic and technical cooperation with S-GE.
• Ensuring smooth cooperation and coordination with S-GE, the Swiss Embassies in the Nordics, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Achieving the annual export promotion and location promotion targets agreed with S-GE and the Swiss Embassy in Sweden.
• Creating synergies both within the SBHN and with all Swiss Embassies in the Nordics.
• Export and innovation promotion:
• Supporting and advising Swiss companies, especially SMEs, in identifying and realising export opportunities in the target countries and in cooperation with S-GE consultants.
• Observing and analysing economic and regulatory developments in the target markets, drawing strategic recommendations for action and business potential for the export industry and using these in the interest of Swiss customers.
• Planning and implementing export projects (market clarifications, partner search, delegation trips, etc.) in close cooperation with the S-GE customer advisor and possibly with suitable experts.
• Investment promotion:
• Providing information about Switzerland as a business location in the Nordics.
• Organising and carrying out events, forums and roadshows on the topic of "Invest in Switzerland" on behalf of S-GE and other stakeholders, in consultation with the Embassies in the Nordics.
• Identifying companies and multipliers for a successful promotion of the location in the Nordics.
• Promoting foreign relocations to Switzerland.
• Network:
• Identifying local experts and ensuring long-term cooperation in order to achieve SBHN's strategic goals.
• Supporting the Swiss Embassies in the Nordics in establishing and expanding their network of contacts and co-operating with relevant initiatives on the ground.
• Contribution to safeguarding Switzerland's interests:
• Supporting the Swiss Embassies in the Nordic countries in the defense of economic and trade-specific interests.
• Taking an active role (in terms of content and strategy) in the implementation of special projects on the ground (delegation trips, House of Switzerland initiatives, cooperation with other Swiss players, etc.).
Requirements:
• Higher education (Bachelor's or Master's degree, or corresponding business experience) combined with economic, business and/or legal expertise.
• Several years of experience in representing Switzerland or Swiss companies abroad, in international business development or sales or in administrative functions.
• Professional experience and network in the target countries, in the Swiss SME environment and in the Swiss export industry.
• Good knowledge of the Swiss export industry, location promotion in relation to the Nordics. Intercultural sensitivity. Affinity for public communication, digital tools and the use of digital tools in marketing and sales.
• Management and consulting experience in an international context, at decentralised locations or with different country organisations.
• Networked thinking and action, strong communication and dialogue skills, ability to build and maintain a sustainable network.
• Understanding of the roles and tasks of diplomatic and consular representations and other Swiss players abroad and the possible synergies that can result from cooperation in the areas of export promotion and location promotion.
• Language skills: English (C2), Swedish (at least C1), Finnish (at least C1), and at least one official Swiss language (German, French or Italian).
