We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars' journey into the future.

What's in it for you

You will take a leading position in a company with extremely high goals and a clear vision. We want to become a fully electric company with a minimal carbon footprint. Our vision is high, and we do not aim to only be a part of electrification - we want to lead electrification!

To be able to reach our company goals and our mission, we need to bring in the best leaders who challenge how we do things, bring out the best in your team, and create a sustainable work environment. You will enter a senior leadership position and drive changes and improvements globally and be part of developing a business-oriented culture.

What will you do?

As Head of Tooling, you will lead a global organization consisting of 7 tooling teams based in our plants in Sweden, Belgium, China, and the US. A major responsibility for Tooling is to implement process changes in each respective production site. The Tooling team also actively participates in the work to define technical and commercial strategies within each area. This position reports to the ME Senior Director and as part of the management team you are not only representing your team but are also expected to bring both ideas and engagement for the complete unit as well as to the management team.

Do you fit the profile?

We are looking for a true leader with high ambitions and great interest in both developing people, Manufacturing Engineering and the Global Tooling organization. You have experience from being a manager of managers, and know what it takes to build great leaders and develop people and teams. You empower and challenge your team and like to see people grow. You lead with clarity and assist in removing impediments. You encourage new thinking in those around you and you build excitement to explore the possibilities of new ways of working. You know to translate the excitement into positive action through feedback and encouragement, giving your team the latitude to get the work done. To be successful you are a team-oriented person with good communication and coaching skills. You enjoy working in a global and diverse organization.

You have a degree within Engineering or equivalent and experience from working in a manufacturing, R&D environment, or similar. You are fluent in English, both oral and written. It is also meritorious if you have global experience of leading in change and also if you have knowledge of lean tools and techniques as well as an understanding of agile ways of working.

As a person you are forward-leaning, collaborative, pro-active and want to contribute to a larger purpose. A compassionate person who understands that every individual and situation has their specific needs, and can adapt your leadership style and interactions accordingly. Someone who likes to have fun at work, and takes great care in making sure everyone always feels welcome and included!

The position is based on-site in Gothenburg, Sweden, and occasional travel is needed.
