We are a small but passionate and effective team that is stronger than the sum of its parts, and are ready to tackle the big challenges we have ahead of us. The Head of Strategy will report directly to the CFO and will join a team responsible for finance, strategy and business development, and business office project management. We are highly dynamic and flexible and believe that diversity is a key strength. As the Head of Strategy, you will also contribute to our Executive Management Team with a highly visible role and will work closely and at a high level of confidentiality with the President of Volvo Autonomous Solutions
We are located in Gothenburg, Sweden in the innovation center of the Volvo Group - CampX. As such, our environment is open, modern and gives immediate access to innovative partners and colleagues.

As we are a start-up inside the Volvo Group, we desire a hands-on, creative, "roll up your sleeves" individual that will help us build our company. As such, this individual will be responsible for bringing together crucial pieces of information such as strategic priorities, technology development, competitor performance, operational performance, innovations, markets, etc. from various internal and external sources in order to develop strategic options and spearhead the strategic vision.
This role is responsible for driving our growth strategy, from start up to scale up, preparing for the organizational readiness we need to have in place in order to accelerate and commercialize. This also includes business and competitive Intelligence, Strategy development and understanding the technology drivers of our industry. We require both technical and interpersonal competencies - how you do things often more important than what you do.
The success in this position demands a strong strategic and questioning nature coupled with sound understanding of the technology drivers and good communication skills, as well as a highly developed collaborative nature. Vision, energy, enthusiasm and focus are required, but also contextual sensitivity and the ability to work effectively across a broad spectrum of people. Developing a strategy is one thing, to have it embraced and executed is something else.
Alongside the executive management team, this position drives the strategic planning process to ensure that this process is timely, focused, and value adding. In addition, ensures that the strategy planning process highlights existing business issues, making certain that these issues are thoughtfully addressed by the laid out plans.
You will need to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders and connect cross-functional teams in the development of our operational strategies. This requires you to inspire trust and confidence in your colleagues and management. Who are you?
You have probably worked with strategic development activities on a senior level before and have several years of experience from setting long-term strategies in a complex and changing environment, and can demonstrate an ability to transform strategy, processes and guidelines into hands-on activities.
You are a respected leader with high integrity and credibility. You are passionate about performance excellence, team building and are a professional and relatable individual who forms strong and lasting connections with others.
You have the ability to visualize, inspire and co-ordinate throughout an organization, and make sure your colleagues and partners are convinced and excited to put plans into action.
You have a natural curiosity combined with the ability to translate technology and business intelligence insights with skillful understanding of complex business issues, and you are able to turn them into clear concepts and strategic reasoning.
Your capacity to listen and create strong relationships cross-functionally is well known.
You take responsibility for your own learning and continuous improvements.
You are flexible, adaptable and able to work under pressure.
