The Flight Operation Department within Saab Aeronautics is looking for a new business oriented, collaborative and enthusiastic section manager for Special Flight Operations In Nyköping!

Your role

Our section performs Specialised operations including Aerial Target Towing, Flight Calibration, Aerial Firefighting and Electronic Warfare Training. The section also conducts flight training within our Approved Training Organisations (ATO).

As a line manager for Special Flight Operations your role is to be responsible for the management of the section and the business that the section conducts. To succeed within this role, you will work close together with the Flight Operation Manager who have the designated operational responsibility. You will also be a part of the department 's management team where you actively contribute and collaborate to ensure the overall strategy and goals for the department. You will report directly to the Head of Department.

Your main tasks as section manager:

* Being responsible line manager for pilots, operators and OCC (Operational Control Center) personnel.
* Short/Long term resource planning, capability planning and recruitment.
* Developing and implementing strategies, operational targets and plans for the section and its employees.
* Ensure efficient ways of working in our business development and execution.
* Further develop the business and service portfolio within Special Flight Operations.
* Build relationships with customers and stakeholders, internally as well as externally.
* Budget responsibility including profit and loss responsibility for Special Flight Operations.
* Participate in and contribute to the management team 's strategy work for the department.

Desired skills:

* Documented experience as a manager with staff responsibilities
* Knowledge of authority requirements in the aviation industry
* Experience in business negotiations
* Experience from working with customer relations and/or procurement

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

You will be an important part of the Management Team for the department Flight Operations. The department consists of about 60 employees divided into 4 sections. Corporate Flight Services and Flight Test based in Linköping. Special Flight Operations in Nyköping and Airport Technology in Arboga/Sundsvall. The department performs Flight Operations and delivers Air Navigation Services. Activities that require a permit from a responsible Aviation Authority.
