What we are looking for
Uniper Renewables is responsible for the development of the solar-PV and wind-onshore business of Uniper, predominantly in Europe. The renewables business is one of the most important pillars of our strategic ambition. Our aim is to deliver more than 1 GW growth p.a. by 2025. The geographical set-up and our existing capabilities allow us to enhance the solar and wind of Uniper in all selected geographies. Sweden is one of our core growth areas and we have a unique opportunity for a passionate, innovative and experienced Senior Manager in Project Development of Solar and Wind projects to lead our growing Swedish team and to help shape and accelerate our journey to delivering our goals. The position will be located in Barsebäck or Malmö.
What you will work with
As our Head of Project Development, Solar and Wind you will:
• Build up and Lead the regional development team of 5 to 10 people allocated within Sweden, in order to develop solar and/or Wind projects from greenfield to ready-to-build (RTB), and to support until commercial operation is achieved.
• Develop utility scale solar and wind projects of more than 250 MW p.a. from 2025
• Cover the full development cycle from origination to RTB or financial close stage
• Manage relationships with land owners, permitting authorities, grid operators, regulators, offtakes and other relevant stakeholders.
• Liaise with existing Uniper's business teams (asset teams, trading / PPAs, finance, others) and enabling functions
• Supporting role in M&A processes (assessing market environment/pipeline quality)
• Build a high performing team, create a rewarding and fun work environment
• Support the development of the team and actively contribute to personal development of team members
• Reports to the Regional Vice President of Renewables of Uniper covering Nordic countries.
Uniper is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure and our operations are covered by, among other things, rules related to protective security, export control and nuclear non-proliferation. We will therefore carry out security clearance of all positions and complement with register control for security classified positions, according to the Protection Security Act. Health and drug tests are performed if applicable.
Uniper is positive to a flexible approach around remote working based on the conditions of the business and the individual employee.
Who we are seeking
You have a University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or comparable studies. At least 10-15 years of relevant work experience in development positions around renewable energy assets, acting as a team lead and at least 10 years insight into the renewable energy market with a focus on utility scale solar and/or wind projects within Sweden. Experience in other EU markets will be a plus.
To succeed in this role, we see that you have a deep understanding of the relevant solar and Wind market dynamics and the market environment in Sweden. You have proven knowledge in the process of developing utility scale solar and Wind projects in Sweden and a proven track record of international work experience and appreciation of cultural differences.
As a person you are a creative and open-minded individual with a good sense of humor. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills is required. The role is set in an international environment and as a result you need to be fluent in written and spoken Swedish and English. High mobility/willingness to travel internationally is important as well as developed leadership skills.
