The Social Media Team is a strongly brand driven team, ensuring that our communication is seen by the right people in the right channels. We are committed to building our brand by providing the costumers with both correct information and dreams about owning one of our cars.
The Head of Social Media has overall responsibility for defining and executing Volvo's global social media vision and strategy for all channels. The ideal candidate is ambitious, results-oriented, has a pulse on the social landscape, has helped drive innovation, and has led strategy and best practices in social media for a global brand (either in-house or at an agency). You excel at social media strategy, planning, channel specific content development, audience segmentation, channel operations, and social measurement and analytics.
Let us describe the challenge we offer
As Head of Social Media, you will have the opportunity to define a vision for how Volvo will show up in culture/social, while also working hands on with internal and agency teams to develop playbooks and campaigns. You will need to be an expert in working cross-functionally across departments: Global & Regional Brand Marketing, Media, PR/Comms teams, and more.
You will work with key global marketing stakeholders and marketing channel leads on social media, brand, and communications projects to deliver the best performance for Volvo. You will work with our global media and analytics teams to develop and maintain a clear media investment and reporting that demonstrates results of social media activation.
You will have experience in
• Defining and executing social media strategy, demonstrating how the activation of channels can create both short- and long-term value for the Volvo brand and its employees
• Establishing the right organizational setup and processes for governing, managing and delivering on demands for social media activation and engagement with global, regional and local stakeholders
• Creating value driven roadmaps for developing and deploying the capabilities required to realize the social media strategy across regions and markets
• Best practices for global social media strategy with regional nuance across Americas, EMEA, and APAC - executing locally in partnership with local region/market channel experts
• Integrating social media strategy with other paid, owned, and earned channels to deliver the best customer experiences
• Deep understanding of how paid and organic content and strategies work together
• Expert in developing social marketing strategies that are native to each channel and that can deliver tangible results
• Ability to collect, analyse, and use social data to advise decision making
• At the cutting edge of social trends and culture, knowing how to credibly and sensitively harness them while maintaining brand safety and values
• You will be expected to champion the use of social media as a means of creating business and customer value throughout Volvo's organization
• Requesting pricing, project scopes and quotes from external agencies
• You are a natural leader and have experience from leading teams in a similar environment
What you will do
The ideal candidate will be expected to be a knowledge expert and define Volvo's vision for:
• Alignment of social media strategy to global marketing direction and strategy
• Lead teams of central and regional social media experts in planning editorial and content calendars as well as operational frameworks to deliver
• Definition of structure for regional [and local] application of global social strategy
• Develop and nurture relationships and roadmaps with key global social media, media, and creative agencies
• Defining the overarching strategy for social + Volvo. Anchoring the 'why' and 'how' Volvo will show up in social, and the roles for the various channels
• Build an impactful social activity that leads to an improvement in brand favorability and trust
• Partner with internal teams to execute coordinated social activity for brand and product campaigns helping to breathe social-first thinking into everything we do, in an upstream manner
• Establish a social strategy and editorial approach that delivers beats of relevant social content aligned with our marketing objectives
• Develop a strategy for and ongoing oversight of tools and infrastructure
• Establish performance marketing framework and practices within social media channels
• Build and maintain relationships with key global social media platform and technology partners
