Supply Network Quality (SNQ) is an organization within Volvo Group Purchasing responsible to drive the global supply network towards premium automotive quality standards. This means we are responsible to secure the manufacturing capabilities of the supply network, to quality assure the purchased parts and to continuously improve the quality performance of the supply network base. We work with these matters both in sourcing, projects and operations with a clear objective to provide excellent products to our end customers.
Position description
We are looking for a motivated candidate to take the role as head of SNQ Electromobility and Autonomous. The team has a wide responsibility for electromobility components, the autonomous drive system, and the fuel cell system.
We evaluate, quality assure and improve our new and existing suppliers in projects and running production. In this role you formally are responsible for the quality performance of the respective supply chain partners of the Volvo Group delivering to our plants in Europe, including preparations to make sure the right suppliers are selected, components are quality assured and ready in time for product introductions and to prevent quality issues during the lifetime of our products.
You will have full responsibility for all operational SNQ activities in the area responsibility and most of employees are in Sweden and in France. Due to the technology shift you will have to coach the team to work with suppliers with long automotive experience and early start-ups where more development is needed.
You will be an active member of the SNQ Emob autonomous and electrical management, where you drive and support various initiatives and business plans for the global SNQ organization in Volvo Group Purchasing. You will also participate actively in the Purchasing management team for your commodity to secure full purchasing alignment and engage in operational purchasing activities.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate has a proven track record of +3 years in a manager or project manager role. You have an excellent understanding of and experience in quality assurance within the automotive industry. You are passionate about technology and production processes. You constantly develop, take ownership and accountability for the scope of your team and the related supply network partners. You can both master the overall status of your scope and be on top of details for specific cases when required. You have the ability to assess the facts and use your experience to take informed decisions. You always strive to deliver great products and value for our customers.
You have a strong ability to form trustful and cross-functional relations both within and outside the department. You expect your team to contribute on the level of industry benchmark for supplier quality.
You are highly driven and like speed. You can switch swiftly between activities as needed. As a leader, you care for your team. You have an inclusive leadership, taking quick decisions and have the capability to bring out the best from your team! You lead with passion, always perform with purpose, and ability to transform with vision. You and your team are enablers for the execution of Volvo Group's & Volvo Group Purchasing business.
Required competencies for the position:
You have a high ambition combined with a strong drive, a can-do mindset, a hands-on attitude, and an ability to drive many initiatives in parallel.
University degree in Engineering
Documented experience within engineering, purchasing or manufacturing
Minimum of 3 years of leading people; either as a manager or in a functional management role
Experience from working in an international environment
Knowledge and experience of quality assurance in the automotive industry or similar
Sound judgement - ability to take the right actions and decision at the right time together with internal stakeholders, with risks and opportunities and alternative solutions in mind
Technical interest in new technology shift
Excellent skills in communication and building networks
Strong drive to constantly develop and ability to get things done
Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written English
