Head of Responsible Purchasing, Volvo Group Purchasing

The choices we make today define the world we live in tomorrow. Climate change, population growth and increasing urbanization are shifting the landscape and expectations on transport and infrastructure. In all our actions, we need to consider how to reduce climate impact, use the world's resources more efficiently, and conduct business more responsibly. We have set ambitious targets in accordance with Science Based Targets initiative and provide a Green Finance Framework to accelerate our transformation to fossil-free solutions. By 2040, we aim to sell only fossil-free vehicles and have established fully climate neutral value chains.

We are now looking for a Head of Responsible Purchasing to drive the strategy and execution of our sustainability agenda across the supply network. You will lead a team of three direct reports to ensure we set objectives and methodologies for implementation within our sustainability pillars of Climate, Resources and People. In this role, you will work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in orchestrating our efforts towards a more sustainable future.

Key activities include:
Leading our work to carbon neutral, circular, and responsible & transparent supply networks together with the team.
Initiate and drive prioritized Volvo Group Purchasing sustainability activities.
Establish processes and tools to secure a robust internal and external reporting and follow-up. Track, assess and visualize progress and present areas of improvements to the executive team and other key stakeholders.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, supply partners and other for the company important stakeholders.
Guide and steer the purchasing community to implement the sustainability transformation across the supply network.
Establish and manage partnerships and participate in relevant networks with stakeholders such as Drive Sustainability, AIAG, NGOs, authorities, agencies.
Work in collaboration to identify, assess and implement new legislation, regulation, or stakeholder expectations in the areas of sustainability.

Background and experience:
You are passionate about sustainability and have an extensive demonstrated track record of working with implementation of ESG strategies in a multinational corporate environment.
You have a broad sustainability knowledge and can use this to motivate, activate and engage others.
You have deep understanding within the environmental field, with focus on decarbonization and a circular use of resources, as well as within due diligence and human rights preferably in a supply network context.
You have a strong business acumen and are able to navigate implementation of sustainability matters into daily operations within a global company.
You like to influence others and combine this with a strong drive to make an impact. You are a natural collaborator and enjoy multistakeholder dialogues.
You are creative, dare to challenge with bold new ideas, and not afraid to operate in a world of many uncertainties with high speed and focus on execution.
You are a natural and skilled leader. You are in possession of a relevant academic degree and have many years of working experience as a sustainability professional in a senior position.
