About the role

We are expanding our Research & Development department and are looking for a skilled Head of refrigeration & fluid dynamics. The primary focus of this role will be to oversee the management, growth, and development of the team, which is responsible for developing and designing heat pump refrigeration circuits & climate systems.

By joining early on, you will influence working methods, technology choices and you will play a key role in shaping our product. You will have the opportunity to make key decisions in our product development and play a leading role in the creation of our product. You will help create and lay the foundation for both the product and the team culture.

Your responsibilities include:

• Identify and resolve issues and challenges related to the team's assignment

• Monitor and report on the performance of your team

• Assist in the development and implementation of processes and procedures

• Collaborate with external partners and vendors as needed

• Provide technical support and guidance to team members as needed

• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements related to heat pump & climate systems technology to continuously enhance product development processes

What we would like you to have

Besides an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to deal with constant change, we would like you to have:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

• 5+ years of experience in managing teams working with product development

• Solid knowledge of thermodynamics, HVAC & refrigeration systems

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Strong understanding of the product development process

• Open mind set & enjoy working in a start-up environment with high ambition to scale fast

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Strong organizational skills

It's also beneficial if you have some of the following:
• Knowledge in household heat and cooling systems applications

• Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems

• Experience in start up/scale up environment
