PureBallast - a system developed by Alfa Laval and Wallenius, prevents the spread of invasive organisms between the oceans. We have a market leading position since the launch in 2006, with a yearly turnover exceeding 100 MEUR and sell systems and services to ship owners and shipyards worldwide. The environmental legislation continues to develop creating further opportunities for our capital sales together with a continued strong service growth. We are now looking for someone to continue develop this international business.
About the job
As Managing Director of AlfaWall you will be leading the company, the ballast water treatment business and continuously enhance our product and service offering to our customers. You will be leading a team of about 50 persons located in Shanghai and Tumba managing a global business exceeding 100 MEUR.
The organization consists predominantly of sales, R&D and customer support functions.
You will be setting, following-up and making sure the Company's targets and objectives are met. The work includes international interaction as well as contacts with customers, suppliers, public authorities and interest groups.
You are responsible for the complete business including a full P&L responsibility for the operation.
Who you are
You are an experienced leader with strong drive, goal oriented and passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience while not compromising on health & safety. You enjoy finding opportunities providing solutions that add value to customers. You have experience from an international business and negotiations. You have a quality mind set and you do not compromise on business principles or on delivering on the brand promise.
As a leader, you are a strong communicator, you are clear and visible in the organization, and you engage and empower your employees through inspiring feedback.
What you know
You have a relevant commercial or technical education at academic level combined with a proven track record from driving an international business. You have preferably experience from both capital and service sales as well as product development and supply chain management.
You are successful in the leadership role and have experience in and talent for unlocking your employees' potentials and in developing high performing teams. You have experience from leading a larger organization.
You have the ability to collaborate and get things done in a culturally diverse and matrices environment, which also implies that you have a good command for the English language.
Practicalities
You will functionally report to the Board of Directors and operationally to the Head of Business Unit WWF. The position is based in Tumba, and you will be employed by AlfaWall AB.
The PureBallast product is marketed and sold entirely by Alfa Laval, and you will act within the global Alfa Laval organization, with many international contacts, both internally and externally.
