hela Sverige Avalanche Studios Group are looking for a proven commercial leader to fill a new role as Head of Publishing to build a scalable and sustainable publishing organisation. The Head of Publishing will manage all key publishing functions including live services, marketing & communications, and business development & partnerships. Their responsibilities include setting the long-term strategy for the Avalanche Studios Group as a growing publisher of premium open world, community driven games.
The successful candidate will have at least 20 years of experience in interactive entertainment, ideally with a combination of time in leadership roles in product development, publishing, production operations and partnerships. Additionally, experience at publishers and developers of varying sizes, as well as platform experience will be required.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will be charged with designing a scalable and sustainable publishing organisation in conjunction with the needs of the self-publishing divisions, and the communities they serve
Organisational strategy & infrastructure design and roll out
Owns the Group Level P&L for the self publishing divisions
RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED:
Operational excellence. A strong commercial strategy requires tactically functional execution skills. The individual will need to know how to get things done in a timely manner
Provide best in class processes for the franchise and propose a path of alignment for the organisation
Understand the competitor landscape, advise and build on new processes and practices to enhance performance
Build a team. The individual will initially have a small team of three people (this includes; business intelligence, business development sourcing and sales management). This person will be responsible for visualising the future of this team and tasked with growing hiring new members for its growth.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
20+ years' experience in interactive entertainment in a variety of leadership roles including:
Product development/studio management
Publishing roles at companies of various sizes
Studio or production operations
Consultative experience
Partnership strategy & business development
Experience working at a major games platform, e.g. Sony, Microsoft, Google, Apple
Leadership in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives
Experience in, or working with start ups
Experience on or working with a Board of Directors
Experience with owning and managing a P&L, organisational development, process and infrastructure design
Senior management experience, with a proven track record of growing and empowering direct reports who are also managers, and creating scalable systems, processes and tools
Extensive knowledge of working in a KPI-focused environment, and delivering ROI
Experience with forecasting and creating monthly/yearly/long term budgets
Collaborative, proactive, responsible, and self-motivated. Excellent internal and external relationship management skills
Great organisational skills and a self-starter.
Someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who can build up a new division for an organisation
An approachable, proactive individual who is eager to create a new vision and strategy for this function
Excellent English written and oral skills is a must. Someone who has excellent presentation skills
Comfortable travelling with work. The person needs to feel comfortable attending the major games industry conferences when needed.
