Who are we?
Volvo Autonomous Solutions (V.A.S) is a new entity within the Volvo Group with the mission to develop and offer transport and material handling solutions never seen before. We accelerate the development, commercialization, and sales of autonomous transport solutions, focusing on defined segments. With entirely new business models and highly advanced technology we will meet and exceed expectations from customers, and contributing to a society that we want to live in. There are about 400 of us and together we form a team that is stronger than the sum of its parts - and is ready to tackle the big challenges we have ahead of us. We are located mainly in Sweden and have a growing footprint the USA.
This is the role
At Volvo Autonomous Solutions, we develop autonomous transport solutions for three segments - quarries & mining, ports & logistic centers, and Hub 2 Hub on highway transportation. The segment - Hub 2 Hub on highway transportation - represents a significant opportunity, with a strong US focus.
The product organization of V.A.S. acts in close collaboration with Volvo Group 's Technology, Purchasing and Operations functions, our technology partner Aurora and our own commercial organization. The Head of the Product organization for Hub to Hub, is responsible to create the autonomous transport system for the segment, integrating our partners' virtual driver with our trucks and securing all required product elements are in place. The Product organization is also monitoring market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and product differentiation.
From the Head of Product Hub 2 Hub for Volvo Autonomous Solutions we expect product ownership and the ability to manage large and complex engineering programs through internal and external partners. As stated above, the key responsibility is to define and build the new autonomous transportation system value chain for the segment. In this role you will develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the Hub 2 Hub segment, aligning with overall company objectives. This includes the definition and execution of clear product roadmaps and prioritization of features, enhancements, and customizations based on market research, customer feedback, and competitive analysis. You will lead and coach a team of Program- and Product Managers, ensuring they are aligned with the segment's goals and objectives. Partnership is the new leadership, and we fill this words with action and for that reason the relationship management to internal and external partners plays an important part towards our road to successful delivery
As V.A.S. is a start-up within Volvo Group, one of our key objectives is the scaling of our autonomous transport systems - hence the role includes the responsibility to establish and execute the abilities to rapidly scale our autonomous transport system for Hub to Hub on highway transportation.
We do consider this role as a critical and senior management position, reporting to the Chief Product Officer for Volvo Autonomous Solutions. Location is Gothenburg, Sweden.
This is you
You have a proven leadership experience, combined with good experience from product development in the automotive or a related industry. You have an established track record of successfully leading product teams, building roadmaps and driving revenue growth. The role requires experience in product lifecycle management, from ideation to launch and ongoing optimization. To execute well, strong project & program management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously are needed. Experience in product management of solutions, including hardware, software and integration is an important asset. And of course, we strongly desire an entrepreneurial mindset coupled with a strong passion for innovation and technology.
We also believe you are an inspiring leader, able to develop and support people, and through them you enable the business to scale and to grow. The role requires to manage various stakeholders, internally and externally, so your ability to manage relationships is important. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken and you have the ability to communicate in a clear and concise way. You have a university degree in engineering and / or business and are passionate about lifelong learning. Relevant industry experience is an asset.
