Outbound Logistics is a new unit within Volvo Cars Manufacturing. As part of a new business structure in VCC it is the mission to connect customers to the distribution process and design the logistics of finished vehicles on time in a cost efficient way according to the lead time and quality specified.
We are now looking for the "Head of Outbound Logistics" situated in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The position is responsible for the distribution process of finished vehicles within the corporate process "Order to Delivery" and will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Manufacturing.
Main responsibilities are:
Represent the Outbound logistics function in the Manufacturing Management Team
Manage, coordinate and define the long term strategy, risk mitigation plans and the overall network design
Agree, align and communicate the outbound logistics strategy and network with internal and external parties
Ensure that the strategy is aligned to the overall VCC strategy
Secure daily delivery of finished vehicles in a market competitive way to establish an advantage for Volvo Cars
Responsible for procurement of products and services within the defined Commodity scope in accordance with the Function Description for Outbound logistics
Manage personnel within the Outbound logistics function, including people development, recruiting and salary negotiations
Required qualifications:
University degree and/or equivalent work experience
Broad international industrial manufacturing and supply chain experience
Experience from the automotive industry and finished vehicle logistics in particular
Experience from dealing with transport providers and maintaining commercial relations, including commercial negotiations
Broad knowledge within global outbound logistics
