Testa Center is an initiative between the Swedish government and Cytiva to secure the growth of the life science industry and its manufacturing capabilities. The main objective is to bridge the gap from discovery to industrialization. Government grants of approximately $12M have been received through the Swedish Innovation Agency Vinnova to establish the Center.
The Center organization is currently looking for Head of operations, who 's main responsibilities are coordination of lab activities in the Center including leading technical planning around client projects and having overarching responsibility for functionality and operation of the labs in Testa Center. You will be a member of the management team in Testa Center and have the leading role in a team of up-stream, mid-stream and down-stream specialists and be closely connected to the Head of IT and Digital as well as the Project coordinator in Testa Center. You will be reporting to the CEO of Testa Center.
What you'll do
• Coordinate planning and lab work of client project activities in the Center.
• Lead and coordinate technical discussions of Client projects together with Testa Center specialists and the Client Scientists, both prior to entering Testa Center, and during the execution phase in Testa Center.
• Together with the Testa Center management, play an active role in delineating the future strategy for Testa Center.
• Build relationships with industry/technology key opinion leaders.
• When applicable, publish and present scientific data for an international audience.
• Assure that instrumentation and processes in Testa Center meet scientific objectives and are aligned with customer needs.
• Be responsible for, and lead others (contractors and suppliers) in the maintenance, support and documentation of routines for the Testa Center.
• Take lead in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating gaps, providing solutions when possible and identifying and tracking key metrics.
• The center is frequently visited by opinion leaders, public and trade organizations, as well as customers, and hence planning and coordination of those visits will be part of the tasks.
Who you are
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and engage teams
• Minimum of 10 years work experience from bioprocessing industry.
• Experience of performing independent research and/or development activities along with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to independently solve problems of "trouble shooting character".
• Good communication skills (both written and spoken), including presentation skills
• Swedish and English as a working language.
• Self-propelled, goal-oriented and driven to learn new things.
• Team player with the ability to work both independently and with others.
• High flexibility to switch between projects and tasks.
