The Testa Center is an open and friendly innovation hub and testbed for biological production. The facility in Uppsala provides a production environment to test and verify bioprocesses, as well as tools and technology, including digital solutions for the industrial manufacture of biological products. The center was established in 2018 as an initiative between the Swedish government and Cytiva to secure the growth of the life science industry and its manufacturing capabilities. The main objective is to bridge the gap from discovery to industrialization. The Testa Center serves a wide variety of clients international including academia, start-ups, small and medium businesses, as well as the industry.
The Testa Center organization is currently looking for a Head of IT and Digital. The main responsibilities of this role are to provide professional advice and technical support to digital innovation projects, both for the Testa Center clients and Cytiva R&D projects, at the Testa Center.
What you'll do
Support the Testa Center clients in planning, training, troubleshooting and executing digital projects. Notably, the Testa Center specialists are not client projects resources, but rather project coaches/advisors.
Build relationships with industry/technology key opinion leaders.
When applicable, publish and present scientific data for an international audience.
Assure that the digital assets in the Testa Center meet the requirements for the scientific objectives and needs of the clients.
Be responsible for, and lead others (consultants and suppliers) in the maintenance, support and documentation of routines for the Testa Center IT infrastructure and the scientific equipment.
Preparation and coordination of the facility for lab exercises will also be included.
Be a part of the staff team dealing with all kinds of matters ranging from very hands-on duties to planning of activities and outlining future strategy.
Participating in continuous improvement and troubleshooting activities by identifying and appropriately escalating gaps, providing solutions when possible.
The Testa Center is frequently visited by clients, as well as opinion leaders, public bodies and trade organizations, hence participating in facility tours, equipment demonstrations and conferences and exhibitions will be a part of the job.
Who you are
MSc in computer Science or similar.
Experienced in software development, preferably from a Life Science environment is advantageous.
Ability to plan, execute and report experiments.
Good communication skills (both written and spoken), including presentation skills.
Fluency in Swedish and English - both written and verbal.
Ability to independently solve problems of "trouble shooting character".
Self-propelled, goal-oriented and driven to learn new things.
Team player with the ability to work both independently and with others.
High flexibility to switch between projects and tasks.
